I haven't really dabbled with the elf teams, but they seem to have their own distinct style. If you want a long term project, go Chaos. So in short I would suggest Orcs or Lizardmen in order to get familiar with positioning and such. Mutations are very powerful skills, but that means you have to push through the early grind to get the SPP to buy those skills. I have seen some developed Chaos teams, and they completely shred their opponents to pieces. You have a lot of big guys that serve as your wall, and then you have the little skinks that can swarm all over the place and are just a big pest for your opponent to deal with. I also tried a Lizardmen team, and they are very powerful early on. Also, as bashy as they are, you will still occasionally find yourself outbashed against some other teams. Against Elven teams that just run away you'll pull your hair out in frustration, though. All their players can take a good beating. Most other teams are specialized in some way or another (Elves, Lizardmen, and Skaven, for speed and ball handling Dwarfs for durability and defense Chaos for mutations and inflicting pain).I'm a beginner to Blood Bowl and I wondered the same thing. At higher levels, though, they suffer from matchups against speed or claw teams (or both, in Skaven), and can struggle-but, early on, and for the sake of learning the game, they are a great choice. In other words, like Humans, they have a pretty good range of abilities. Orcs, on the other hand, start out of the gate for early/low tier domination: they have a nice mix of strength/lbock and bash/running players, and can even develop a viable passing game with some key skill ups, not to mention their superior durability. Coaching Humans, however, will make you a better coach in the long run. That said, I would argue that they are certainly NOT the "easiest" to coach, if only because their Jack-of-all-Trades roster means that they are a little weaker than average when starting out they really require a few skill-ups (preferably doubles) to be viable in many matchups. Because they are the most versatile team in the game (i.e., they can be developed for bash, pass, or a mix of both), it's "good" for a new coach to play them. Humans are usually recommended as a means to learn the game. Sure, you have more players so you're a bit more resilient to bashing, but knowing when to try to go for passes and plays becomes a lot harder calls since you have more variance in success.Īctually, maybe high elves are better as an initial elf team than dark elves. With humans you'll lose a straight out bash battle against the likes of orcs, chaos and dwarves, but you're not reliable enough in the dodging and passing to really consistently be able to rely on running, passing and getting out of the way type plays.

WIth an elf team it is tactically a bit less intuitive, but at least you do the whole ball handling and dodge thing very well. With orcs, you kind of know how you should play and it's straight forward. I feel it's hard to play humans tbh _because_ they have nothing they excel at. Początkowo opublikowane przez Ofan:Because human teams don't have a particular thing they excell at they are a good team to learn the ropes with, they are easier to shape to your playstyle. It's all about staying/dodging out of blocking range and sneaking one guy into the end zone via a chain of passes, runs and handoffs.
